Ngurra Nyujugamu Wangka Wanthagarla Ngurra Warndurala
creation is written in our landscape
For Yindjibarndi people, all creation is written in our landscape and was sung long ago, filling our Country with sacred meanings and deep significance. Today, we share these stories of our Country, culture, and language through art.
JULUWARLU ARt group
For more than 50,000 years, Yindjibarndi people have sustained our Country, law, knowledge, and wellbeing through language, art, and cultural practices. In the beginning, Ngurra Nyunjjamu – the time when the world was soft as clay and the sky was very low (the time that others call the Dreaming) – our creator Sky God, Mingkala, sang the songs from which all life and ngurra (Country) evolved.
