Mitchell Tigan is a proud and respected Bardi Elder and Cultural Custodian from north of Broome. He creates stunning yarranga marni boards and exciting acrylic paintings that illustrate his deep relationship with his Kimberley homelands, sea world and culture at the Juluwarlu Artists’ Centre because of his life partnership with Yindjibarndi artist, Janine Fredericks. Mitchell’s intricate Yarranga Marni carvings and Acrylic paintings featured in the 2018 and 2019 Revealed Exhibition in Fremantle, and the 2018 Cossack Art Awards, and is selected for Perth-based exhibitions.
